WE ARE EXCITED! JUNE 2018 is our year of blessings: A child will have a chance. The woman will feel Loved and Supported. Freeport will open doors to suffering women. We will bond in love as we serve. Thank you for standing by us. Your love and sacrifices achieved so much. However, there are still pieces of work to be completed: cleaning, dusting, painting and so on. Come and help. We pray for many volunteers to reach our goal. Give a baby a chance with skilled or unskilled hours. Bring your teenage children. All types of age-appropriate work are needed! Continue reading

New Study Proves Feminists Wrong: Women Say Their Abortion Was Not Liberating

A new study of post-abortive women across the United States found that women suffer from long-term negative emotions after aborting their unborn babies.
The research was based on an anonymous online survey of 987 women who contacted a crisis pregnancy center for post-abortion care. The Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons published the study in its Winter 2017 edition. …

Our Sisters Need our Help

I just got this email this morning from Coleen Fenn. If anybody could be generous enough to help these lovely ladies. There is a lot more than the boiler that needs to be fixed at the convent. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good morning. This recent frigid weather has been a nuisance for many of us, but our beautiful blue nuns have been especially affected. The boiler which heats their convent has died and no repair can bring it back to life. They have worked out a deal with an area supplier to have a new boiler installed, but the cost is close to $16,000. As you may or may not know, these wonderful women are not assisted by the diocese. They make their living just like all of us, working in our communities. This expense has put a terrible strain on their already meager budget. If you can assist monetarily or through prayer, this would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to contribute and assist them to pay this bill, please send your check to; IHM Sisters 1209 S. Walnut Ave Freeport Ill 61032. Please share this information with everyone you know. Lets show them that we appreciate their presence in our community.

God Bless You.

Time and Talent Survey

Next weekend we will introduce a Time and Talent Survey in response to the Pew Survey last January. We really appreciate your responses and are looking forward to responding with concrete solutions. But we need your help in finding and implementing these solutions. Our hope is to find people who are willing to help fill the needs of our community. Right now, we have a limited number of helpers. Are there people willing to step up and help us be an Amazing Parish? We need people to do the ground work and people who are willing to co-coordinate various ministries. After the survey, we hope to identify those people who would serve as the new combined parish council as well. Continue reading
