BROWNSVILLE – The heat index in McAllen, Texas was 125 degrees on Saturday, but that did not stop members of the pro-life movement from delivering a semi-truck full of supplies and thousands of dollars in aid to respite centers at the border of the United States and Mexico.
The #BottlestotheBorder campaign, launched by New Wave Feminists in partnership with And Then There Were None (ATTWN), collected more than $120,000 worth of supplies and donated more than $70,000 in aid funding to multiple respite centers, where migrants who…
One bill would remove many regulations, including a ban on partial-birth abortion; other bill would repeal the state parental-notification law.

CHICAGO — Cardinal Blase Cupich of Chicago has spoken out against a pair of Illinois abortion bills, calling them a radical and disturbing movement away from the common good.
In a March 23 letter to the people of his archdiocese, Cupich encouraged Catholics to take a stand against the legislation.
One of the bills — introduced as House Bill 2495 and Senate Bill 1942 — “seeks to strip unborn persons of any protection — or even consideration — under the law and declares abortion to be a ‘fundamental right’ and matter of health care,” he warned. …
Since legalizing abortion in 1973 the incidence of child abuse has soared at an alarming rate. Abortion weakens the social taboo against hurting the helpless and diminishes the value of life. If you don’t believe it, just watch the news. Abortions are 100% fatal to the baby and it’s never the baby’s “choice.” The abortion business makes a killing by getting away with murder! Lord, deliver us from the darkness of abortion and euthanasia.
A new government contract uncovered by CNS News shows the federal government continues to spend taxpayer dollars on research using aborted baby body parts.
The National Institute of Health contract is with University of California- San Francisco. The contract provides money for fetal body parts to conduct experiments involving “humanized mice,” according to the report. NIH is an agency under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. …

The movie “Gosnell” challenges us to rethink the idea of “Pro-choice”. Have I seen the movie yet? No, but I know the story. You may remember some of the news covering the most prolific abortionist of the last twenty years, Kermit Gosnell. It was mostly covered by Pro-life advocates and totally ignored by mainstream media.
Gosnell On Trial For Running a “House of Horrors”
Here is an explanation of another place that did similar things. It seems the issue of Gosnell is not so rare as we would like to think. The witness accounts are disturbing by themselves, children should use parents discretion for this web site. https://www.lifenews.com/2013/05/15/another-gosnell-report-shows-texas-abortion-doc-kills-babies-born-alive/
Gosnell is now in jail for many crimes. The movie tells the shocking story of an abortionist who killed babies outside the womb and was responsible for the deaths of many women under his care due to the abortions he provided. The movie is rated PG13. It will be showing at 7:10pm this Thursday, October 18 in the AMC Showplace Rockford 16. I, Father Barr, plan on attending this movie and welcome all parishioners to join me. If you cannot make this time, I encourage you to watch this movie set on the trail of Dr Gosnell. Weather you are pro-life or pro-choice, it will challenge you of the depth of this huge social sin. It has been so engrained into our sense of identity, like that of slavery, that we must look at the consequences of our culture and to make a willed decision to change and get rid of any such atrocities in our time and in times to come.
Abortion, Pope Francis said today, is a way of “eliminating someone” that is similar to the services of a “hired assassin.”
The Pope deviated from his prepared text to underscore this during his General Audience on October 10, 2018, reflecting on the 5th Commandment “Thou shall not kill.” He reminded: “The ‘he’ or ‘she’ that one presents as a problem, is, in reality, a gift from God, which can make me come out of my egocentrism and make me grow in love.” …
Pope Decries Abortion: One Cannot Do Away With a Human Being, Even If Small, to Resolve a Problem
When I recently read about the new assault within the Church on Pope Blessed Paul VI’s 1968 encyclical on contraception, I was deeply disturbed. Humanae Vitae told the truth about contraception and all its negative impacts on people and society. It was precisely because we read Humanae Vitae that my wife, Margaret, I and became “reverts” to the Catholic Church after being away for almost 20 years. Margaret and I were bot…
At least 22 women in America have died and thousands more have experienced serious complications from taking abortion pills, according to updated guidance from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The FDA updated its guidance on mifepristone (known as Mifeprex or Mifegyne), the first stage of a medical abortion that blocks the progesterone needed for a pregnancy to continue, after receiving “reports of serious adverse events in women” who took it. …
FDA Report: Abortion Pill Kills 22 Women, Injures Thousands More
The year 1968 remains a watershed moment in an era of revolution and upheaval.
With the world engulfed in social, political and especially sexual upheaval, the year witnessed the brutal rejection of a relatively brief papal document that sought to clarify the Church’s teachings on family life and the regulation of births. Humanae Vitae (The Regulation of Birth) remains one of the most polarizing papal encyclicals of all time, but also one of the most prophetic in foreseeing vividly the immense dangers of a contraceptive culture that ultimately came to pass.
