Women of Christ Conference 2018

 The annual Women of Christ Conference, sponsored by the Council of Catholic Women, will be held in Cedarburg, Wisconsin on Saturday, November 3, 2018. This is a special day of reflection and spiritual growth for all Catholic women and features spiritually uplifting speakers, such as Dr. Scott Hahn. St Joseph Church in Freeport will sponsor a chartered bus for this important event with boarding available at TriState Travel facility in Galena, the Stockton Recreation Park and St Joseph in Freeport. The anticipated cost for the bus is $25.00. Conference reservations will be available online beginning in August. Please watch your bulletin for further information regarding the conference, how to register and how to reserve your bus seat. Fun Filled Summer Camps

The Vocation Office of the Diocese of Rockford is sponsoring summer camps and retreats at Bishop Lane Retreat Center. St Therese Camp and Retreat for young women in grade 7 thru college, June 24-27 with Sisters from different communities joining us; Jeremiah Days for boys in grades 7 thru 9, July 8-11; and First Call Retreat for young adult males entering grade 10 thru college, July 15-18. Our seminarians studying for our diocese will facilitate, along with Fr. Keith Romke. The cost is only $90.00. Chapter 23 continues the argument and Paul’s ability to preach the gospel. Paul argues that he has remained free from guilt. He is ordered to be struck. Join Us for a St Joseph & St Mary Parish Potluck on June 10

The sun is out, and we should be too! We’re having a party, and inviting you! Everyone’s coming, you should be there! Bring your family, and a dish to share!
Join us for a parish potluck at St Joseph Church after the 10:30 Mass on Sunday, June 10. Weather permitting, there will be seating outside and fun and games for the kids! St Mary Guild June Picnic

St Mary’s Ladies Guild will be hosting our annual picnic at Krape Park, Gunkle Shelter on Thursday, June 7, at 6:00pm. Ladies of St Joseph and St Mary are invited to join us. Pope Francis on homosexual seminarians: This bridge is closed!

At Vatican Insider I spotted something interesting. Each Spring the Italian bishops have a plenary meeting at the Vatican’s Paul VI hall, in the smaller hall where the Synod usually meets. The Pope attends at least part of the meeting. This year was no exception.
