The much-anticipated grand jury report on clerical abuse in six Pennsylvania dioceses was released August 14, 2018.
The document – more than 1,350 pages long – cites credible accusations of abuse against more than 300 priests, with more than 1,000 victims involved. The study took two years and was overseen by Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro.
“The cover-up was sophisticated. And all the while, shockingly, church leadership kept records of the abuse and the cover-up. These documents, from the dioceses’ own ‘Secret Archives,’ formed the backbone of this investigation,” he said at a news conference in Harrisburg, according to Associated Press.

Because in the transfiguration we see clearly it communicates His power and authority to judge. This means He has authority to judge us forgiven. But would He? Listen and find out!
HB 40 is heating up — it could be called for a vote any day! If passed, the bill will allow for public funding of abortions, coverage for abortions in state health plans, funding of organizations that perform abortions (like Planned Parenthood), among other things. We must make our voices heard!
There is an urgent need to meet with legislators in Springfield to personally ask them to “Vote NO” on HB 40. The Catholic Conference of Illinois will provide a training session prior to meeting with our legislatures. According to Vatican Radio, Pope Francis stressed this to faithful during his daily morning Mass at Casa Santa Marta, as he reflected on the creation of woman, as told in Genesis, and on how God created woman, in his personal opinion, so that we would all have a mother.
“Without women, there is no harmony in the world, ” the Pope stressed, noting men and women are not equal. While clarifying that one is not superior to the other, he explained that it is the woman, and not the man, who brings that harmony which makes the world a beautiful place.
