5 Religious Sisters with Different Stories but a Shared Love of Christ

Sister Mary Eucharista, Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Church in Spokane, Washington

Sister was once a member of the Religious Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen (Congregatio Mariae Reginae Immaculate – CMRI) and lived in community at Mount St. Michael (“the Mount”) in Spokane. The CMRIs were initially founded with approval of Church authorities, but went on to embrace sedevacantism and separate from the Church. As sedevacantists, they do not accept the legitimacy of any of the popes since the close of the Second Vatican Council.

Sister and 14 others in her community left the Mount and returned to full communion with the Church. They were told in 2007 by CMRI superior, Bishop Mark Pivarunas, to leave the Mount because of their views. Vespers with our “Blue Nuns”

Year of Consecrated Life:
A Day With the Religious

US Bishops and Major Superiors of religious orders declared
Sunday, September 13, 2015, as A Day With The Religious.

The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary invite everyone in our Freeport Community (St Thomas, St Joseph and St Mary) to join us in Solemn Vespers on Sunday, September 13, 2015, at 4:00pm, in St. Joseph Church. Join us to reminisce all the religious that taught us or family members in the past. Let’s pray and show support for the religious serving in our midst. Please, come and pray with us!

What is “Vespers?” Vespers are prayers that religious women and men promise before God to pray every day for our good. In fact, the sisters pray for us five times every day! Poor sisters, no vacation time from us sinners. Yet they happily pray for us. On this vespers, we can join our prayers with theirs and thank God we have such holy and pleasing prayers that go to God on our behalf. Thank you sisters!
