What do we love more than Jesus? What keeps us from living the Gospel message or from accepting Our Lords teaching? Is it the Cubs or Sox or family, or friends, or political party, or our past, or chocolate or caffeine?
God is Love and Jesus loves us, but that does not mean that what we do is pleasing to Him. God Loves us unconditionally because He loves us not because of anything we have done. Rather, the Father in heaven loves us just because. No matter what sins we have committed, we can still be forgiven. Pretending that our sins do not exist cannot assure of Gods approval or love. We need to have more trust in God’s mercy.
The Resurrection is our triumph over suffering. We no longer have to run away from it, but by the grace of God, we are freed from the worldliness of our culture and the it’s fruits; more suffering. Now we are free to be the people we want to be; a people of goodness, virtue and holiness as opposed to selfishness, vice and worldliness. We are free at last!
God is our help.
Just showing up for Jesus in the good times is like catching the last five minutes of a movie.
What would hte world be like if Jesus did not die on the cross for our salvation?
God still loves us, even when we sin. He still hears our prayers and sends a savior.
