The Mass schedule will go on, even though they will not be celebrated publicly. The Masses will be streamed live on the Facebook pages respective to where the Mass is celebrated. That means that if the Mass is celebrated at St Mary Church, it will be streamed live on the St Mary Facebook and vice versa. The stations of the cross will also be streamend live as well as many other prayers that I pray as a priest every day. You can call in for confessions and set up a time. I am offering confessions at the regular times standing at the curb at St Mary’s church and St Joseph I will be at the Holy Family Statue in the courtyard area between the Church and the rectory. I do not want the virus to be spread by contact in the confesional with so many people coming in and out. I am looking at being in that same courtyard area at St Joseph Church for the previously scheduled “Be Reconciled Day”, Wednesday,  April 1. You may come and join me and go to confession. I plan on being out there all day. (Click more for the updated schedule)

If you would like the bulletin brought to you, we can drop it off in your mailbox, or use the parish app to read it. If you want communion brought to you, I can do that, but only if you are not sick and I remain not sick. Give a call in the office 1-815-232-8271, my extension is 7. I am sending a letter to all parishioners via email or regular mail with a follow up call from the Response Team to see how everybody is doing and to see if there are any needs. If you do not want a call, please let me know by calling the above phone number. Many of you know each other, please spread the word about all we are planning and tell them to call the office if they would like to take advantage of these services.

We are working on getting the live streams going for the Hispanic community for Thursday nights and Sundays and getting the Monday Mass streamed live with Fr Ospina. I like to keep regular, but I never know what will happen next. I might be at different locations from time to time. As we deal with this situation, I decided to focus on the prayers and gain peace of mind and heart. As we go, we will be getting better equipment and beeter at this and hope to keep in contact with you.

Jesus gave us the Church to be a community of believers in support for each other. We are all a gift to each other by the graces of our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you all!

We are two Catholic Churches close to downtown Freeport, IL. Our communities are over 150 years old and have been dedicated to our lord Jesus Christ since our inception. We believe in God the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was concieved by the Holy Spirit, born of ythe Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilot, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
