100 Year Fatima Celebration

Fatima 100 yearsMany people came to the 100 Year Anniversary of the Miracle of the sun in Fatima, Portugal. Everything started in May of 1917. Three children saw the Blessed Virgin Mary, who encouraged people to pray the Rosary and wear their scapular of Mount Carmel. She asked for people to go to confession and for the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart.

It all culminated on October 13 of 1917 when tens of thousands of people came out to see if they could see the Blessed Virgin Mary or what would happen. People were drenched from the big storm that was coming down upon them, but they stayed. Then the storms broke and the sun shone brightly in the sky. The sun swirled with many colors, pulsated and moved around the sky. In fact, the sun moved in such a way that they thought the sun was going to squash them. The eye witness accounts were documented by the atheist newspaper that printed them the next day.

On Saturday, October 14, 2017, we consecrated ourselves, the City of Freeport and the United States to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Fatima. Thank God that He would give us our Mother to help us.

We are two Catholic Churches close to downtown Freeport, IL. Our communities are over 150 years old and have been dedicated to our lord Jesus Christ since our inception. We believe in God the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was concieved by the Holy Spirit, born of ythe Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilot, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
